When should you replace a fuse box?
Typical reasons: the box still has old ceramic fuses, there are too few circuits for modern appliances (induction hob, EV charger, heat pump), earth-leakage protection (aardlekschakelaar) is missing, or breakers trip often. The Dutch standard NEN 1010 sets the safety requirements.
What determines the cost?
The number of circuits (groepen), whether extra RCDs are needed, how accessible the meter cupboard is, and any extra work such as new circuits for a hob or charger. The required work is assessed from photos or on site before a schedule is agreed.
What does the electrician deliver?
A modern box with circuit breakers and RCDs, properly wired, tested and measured at handover to NEN 1010. You get a fixed estimate before work starts — usually based on a photo of your current meter cupboard.
