Solar panels feed power back into your installation, and that puts demands on your fuse box. Here is what to watch out for so the connection is safe.

A dedicated circuit for the inverter

The inverter converts the DC your panels generate into AC and connects to your fuse box. Give it its own circuit, so it can be protected and switched off separately from the rest of the house.

Is your meter cupboard ready?

Check whether there is room for an extra circuit, whether earth-leakage protection is present and up to standard, and whether your main connection copes when you charge an EV and generate at the same time. Older boxes often need extending first.

Have it connected safely

Only a qualified electrician should connect an inverter to the fuse box. We assess whether yours is suitable, add a circuit where needed, and hand it over tested and to NEN 1010.
